ART BASEL MIAMI BEACH 2007
Across the street at the Fragiles exhibition, curated by design publishers supreme Die Gestalten Verlag, a carefully selected mix of ceramic, porcelain and glass objects were show-cased including works by Arne Quinze, Juergen Bey and ceramic super-hero Jaime Hayon, as well as our brilliant new discovery, Dutch artist Hans van Bentem.
Tropism vases at Fragiles, Design Miami
Not to mention the sexy Tropism vase series curated by our good selves (Maxalot), and featuring the don himself Joshua Davis versus ambitious newcomers Commonwealth.
Design Miami at The Moore Space
The elegant, 1920s Moore Space with cusomised Zaha Hadid interior played host to Design Miami, kicking off with Moss debuting the utterly mind-blowing “Robber Baron” series of 5 monumental bronze furnishings by Studio Job which combined stylised elements from famous landmarks around the world that represent industrial power, wealth and corruption.
Honey-pop Chair by Tokujin Yoshioka
Other highlights included Barnaby Barford‘s comedic porcelain figurines, represented by taste arbiter extra-ordinaire David Gill, the charming vintage selection, in particular the 1968 Seagull arm-chair and foot-rest combo by Stenevig Eriksson and Gösta Berg of Dansk Moebelkunst Gallery, and the puzzling but ingenius Honey-pop paper chair by Designer of the Year Tokujin Yoshioka.
