A group exhibition “2020 – Upcomers” will be held at Cross Hotel Sapporo from September 29th, as Machinaka Art X_edition vol.22 which has been held by the hotel and Clark Gallery + SHIFT.

The near future world “2020” which has been drawn in many SF films and works is coming to the front of us. Featuring art works of artists based in Hokkaido who will be flourished in the future furthermore, now this exhibition attempts to present a little bit ahead (prophetically) – 2020 approaching.

“2020 – Upcomers” will show a Fusuma painting “Meiji Monogatari” (Tale of Meiji) from October 14th produced by Yuka Kasai born in 1993, which became a topic through SNS as “Kinoko-Takenoko War is drawn like the Heiji Scroll, Heiji Monogatari Emaki (Tale of the Heiji Rebellion)!!”. But this “Meiji Monogatari” is never based on the Meiji era, but on Japanese popular chocolate snack “Takenokonosato” and “Kinokonoyama” from Meiji Seika. And Tomohiro Shibuki’s three-dimensionally formed works made by all-wool, including various artists’ paintings and art works.
