BREAD & BUTTER Winter 08

If before you needed 3 days to visit the Bread & Butter to be able to watch the whole Fair and get a little a clue of what is going on in Urban Fashion, now you will need to run because B&B is increasing the size.

This edition called King Size, was the biggest one since B&B start at 2003. But, If KING SIZE wasn't enough, for the upcoming summer edition the feria will grow from the nowadays 130.000 sq meters to 160.000 sq. meters.

The success of B&B have being amazing, more if you think that barcelona have always fight to get a space in fashion shows but never succeeded. The Spanish Fashion Week is concentrated in Madrid, with Pasarela Cibeles. And the Barcelona Fshion week is not really important for the fashion world and for the professional media.

Barcelona is worldwide known by his street culture, and not by his elegance. Paris, Milan are the capitals of Pret-a-Porter and Haute Couture and Barcelona is the streetwear capital of Europe.
So for example, a sneakers shop is the perfect fashion place for Barcelona.

B&B is becoming a new symbol of the city. During the Feria the activity is not just concentrated inside the Fira Barcelona Pavillions but around the whole town, with fashion shows, concerts, exhibitions, and parties.

This edition B&B shows that it can be also a great platform for presenting new collections for big designers. Custo Dalmau, presented in Bread & Butter his new collection at the Sala Oval inside the honourable Palau Nacional, before show it at the New York Fashion Week.

The King Size edition of Bread & Butter was as exiting as the ones before. With a special opening night show staged by filmmaker Bjorn Tagemose, lighting designer Ignase d'Haese and architect Giovani De Schampheleire the magnific Palau National was illuminated and dress by music and films.

Divided in 6 thematic areas: Fashion, Superior, Denim, Studio. VI, Sport & Street, Sportwear. This edition also presented the fashion shows by Philipp Plein, Christian Audigier and G-Star.

The upcoming July edition will come with the presentation of "The Source". This new section will rise and support the presentation of fabric producers, selected top-laundries and diverse suppliers, bringing fashion to their origin and essential.
