ANOTHER ASPECT OF LE CORBUSIER – EXPLORING HIS PAINTINGS
An exhibition “Another aspect of Le Corbusier – Exploring his paintings” focusing on the art works of Le Corbusier, one of the most famous architects of the 20th century, will be held at the Okura Museum of Art from June 25th to August 12th.
Le Corbusier will soon mark the 60th anniversary of his death. He is highly regarded as one of the most important architects of the 20th century, but he was also a painter who left behind numerous works of art.
This exhibition introduces his achievements as an artist by displaying approximately 130 works from Taisei Corporation’s Le Corbusier Collection, one of the largest collections of his work in the world. This is the first time in about 30 years that Le Corbusier’s oil paintings, drawings, prints, and papier collé (collage) have been exhibited together.
During the exhibition, lectures by architects Jun Aoki and Kengo Kuma are scheduled to take place.
