ARTIPELAG

PLACEText: Victor Moreno

The gallery’s art program includes contemporary works of painting, photography, sculpture, and video art with Scandinavian and international artists. Some noteworthy exhibitions have included the likes of Olle Bærtling, Monet, Denise Grünstein, and Andy Warhol. The acoustics also make it an excellent space for a concert hall. The Artbox is a majestic room – 1,200 sqm with a ceiling height of 12 m – which can hold different activities such as conferences, studio recordings for large orchestras, film, TV and commercial production and big scale events. This auditorium has a capacity for over 1,000 people.

Access is easy whether by local buses and boats or by car. You can find the accessibility instructions at Visit Artipelag. In case you want to access it with your own boat, there is a harbor at the entrance. To enter the building and to visit the public areas is free. To access the art gallery, depending on the exhibition, a fee may apply.

Last but not least, the restaurant and the outdoor cafeteria are a gorgeous way to enjoy the classic Scandinavian view. If it is warm season, go for a typical Swedish fika – coffee or tea and pastry – lunch, or just a glass of wine on the terrace; and for the fall-winter vibes, a cozy meal on the top floor in the restaurant behind its panoramic windows in such a unique setting. Either option will be the cherry on top to your visiting experience.

All in all, you can spend a beautiful day off away from the buzzing city in the must-see surroundings of the Scandinavian scenery where Art greets Nature.
