Art Brut is an art by artists who received no formal art training, such as those with disabilities, and the interest is growing toward the Paralympic Games in 2020. Originally, with or without any disability, it includes expressions in general, created freely on how they feel about the subject, but it is usually regarded as art of handicapped people in Japan. This exhibition will also be held with the cooperation of the “Hokkaido Art Brut Network Council“, a connecting artists’ activities by handicapped people in Hokkaido.

This exhibition will show case unique art works by artists from Hokkaido Art Brut, with the coordination not from a museum nor a support center for people with disabilities, but from the modern interior of the hotel. Aside from the unique surprise to the visitors of the exhibition, the various guests can also see the beautiful art works and it can be a great opportunity for them to know about Art Brut.
