2014 To regain the irreparable –magnolia-

The solo exhibition “To regain the irreparable.” by the artist, Toshiya Kobayashi is held at Clark Gallery + SHIFT till March 31st, 2015. He was born in Hokkaido and is vigorously active in mainly Tokyo, Germany and Switzerland.

Toshiya Kobayashi has been creating paintings with the motif of the plant for many years. After the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, he started to create the series “To regain the irreparable.” in order to commemorate the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. This series is also the title of this exhibition. It showcased his 30 artworks including mainly his latest works.

After Four years from the earthquake, the reconstruction of the disaster area has not been finished yet and the resolution of the energy problem in the future has not been decided either. With the hope for the future, “To regain the irreparable” also deliver the artist’s message to us who live in the present.

*By popular demand, extended the term of exhibition till March 31st. The works exhibited at “17th DOMANI: The Art of Tomorrow” will be replaced, has been held at The National Art Center, Tokyo over this New Year.
