For Taro Okamoto, “Eating” is not only about tasting and nourishment, but also about the collision of life and life between the eater and the eaten. Okamoto believed that art should be an integral part of daily life, and he created furniture such as dining tables and tableware such as teapots and glasses that were used in the dining room and added color to daily life. Okamoto also produces ceramics with his own unique sensibility and humor, such as platters with calligraphy painted on them and tea utensils with faces.

This exhibition introduces Taro Okamoto’s diverse works, including oil paintings, sculptures, ceramics, industrial design, and photographs with the theme of “Eating” along with Okamoto’s words.

From June 1st, visitors can enjoy a tea set with cups and saucers of Taro’s “Dream Bird,” which is currently on display at the exhibition, at the cafe located next to the exhibition. (Limited to 10 servings daily).
