At CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, Markus Schinwald’s exhibition “Metamorphosis, Manipulation, and Deviance” is holding, till December 13th.
For his first major museum commission in the United States, Vienna-based artist Markus Schinwald presents a site-responsive installation that fills the galleries of the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts.
Schinwald’s architectural intervention acts as a prosthesis that changes the physical and psychological potential of the space and provides a display apparatus for altered 19th-century paintings and wooden sculptures created from the legs of Chippendale-style tables.
