“Philosophical Fashion”—a series inquiring into the meaning of clothing today, when trends change with dizzying speed, driven by the phenomenal rise of “fast fashion.” Featured in this series are creators who consistently propose new fashions on the basis of an enduring concept. The third exhibition in the series will examine the project “happy people” of mintdesigns in 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa.

The fashion brand mintdesigns by Hokuto Katsui and Nao Yagi is attracting attention on their fashion design using their unique textile design. Also they expand their activity range to various collaborations such as tableware, furniture and Japanese confectionery. Their activity proposes the possibility of “fashion”, not “trend” in not only fashion field but also product design for our happy life.

This exhibition will be the experiment with the theme “happy people” to soak our daily life in the clothes by mintdesigns. The moment that people meet mintdesigns in their daily life, will be exhibited. As a related program, an artist talk will be held in December 7th.
