Makoto Iga, an artist based in Sapporo, who presides an art unit “G.A.A.L; Geometrical Abstract Art Laboratory” holds solo exhibition “DOT, STRIPE, CROSS” at Cross Hotel Sapporo, from September 3rd to November 28th.

In 2012, Gallery Sou which selected works of Makoto Iga won “Best Wall Award” at an art fair “ULTRA 005” in Tokyo. For this exhibition, he is to exhibit geometric sculptures including new works on the first floor, and at the lobby and the Meet Lounge on second floor of the hotel.

Since its opening in 2007, Cross Hotel Sapporo has been giving a series of art exhibition of the “ART X (cross)”. From 2011, the ART X has featured the Hokkaido-based artists and shown their artworks to the world in collaboration with SHIFT. Machinaka Art project is the project which aims to fill the city with art and to create friendly environment for people to familiarize themselves with the art, with the participation of some galleries, artists and shops.
