Granvista Gallery Sapporo in “Sapporo Grand Hotel” presents the exhibition “IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE” Exhibition from April 3th to May 27th, 2014.

ISSEI MIYAKE + Reality Lab. is a research and development team who is aim to explore “What should we do as a designer?” facing the possibility of a wide range of manufacturing. One of their projects they have worked on is the research to express recycle materials as the thing more attractive.

The shades looks like Japanese paper of “IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE” are made of improved non-woven fabric of the PET bottle recycled fiber. It was formed by hand-made “fold”. By modeling that is taking advantages of the sophisticated manual work, it stand on own as solid, equipped with a robust, and the structure can be folded.

The original lamp was made by Artemide, Italy. The products of the project of Japanese traditional aesthetic for shadow, nuances of light and shade, have been manufactured from this company. Feel the light, beauty of shadow, and figure in the exhibition.
