Havekost seeks to reflect the world, civilization, architecture, mass consumption and the behaviour of our media-dominated society in a variety of painterly ways. Based on his own collection of digital photographic material of people, objects or landscapes, as relics of our civilization, Havekost alters the images on the computer, and liberates them from their original context before integrating them into his work.

The resulting paintings consistently interrogate the authenticity of our first-glance perception and sensitize the viewer to the subjectivity of our media-driven world. The exhibition will be accompanied by a comprehensive book.
