Pace Gallery New York is pleased to present “Thinker”, Yoshitomo Nara’s solo exhibition in New York since 2013. This exhibition features over sixty new works by Nara including paintings, sculptures, ceramics and works on paper.

Yoshitomo Nara (1959-) creates paintings, sculptures, and drawings of adorable-yet-sinister childlike characters. Nara’s sculptures, made primarily from fiberglass, and his drawings on postcards, envelopes, and scraps of paper, further this exploration using the same elegance of line and simple palette as his paintings.

The exhibition reflects on where Nara is now, thirty years after he first made his mark on the international art stage. The viewer is presented with an older Nara whose artistic practice embodies a meditative approach.
