An exhibition “HELLO, MY NAME IS PAUL SMITH” by renowned fashion brand, Paul Smith has started at The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, until July 18th. This exhibition will travel in Tokyo and Nagoya after Kyoto, which was held at Design Museum London in 2013.

UK-born Paul Smith, started to work at an apparel warehouse in Nottingham when 16 years old. Later, by encountering with a student of art school, he has been fond of architect, design, fashion and art. And with receiving encouragement by a teacher of the art school Pauline Denyer who became a partner of his life, he practiced his own small shop in the back street of Nottingham. It was his start as a designer.

Now, Paul Smith has become a worldwide brand developing in over 70 countries and distinct. This exhibition approaches and shows his creation with various angles such as hobbies and the source of idea, not only fashion.
