MAYA MAXX, Silence, 2013, Kahitsukan Kyoto Museum of Contemporary Art

MAYA MAXX exhibition “Engrave on a Heart” will open at Kahitsukan – Kyoto Museum of Contemporary Art from June 1st to July 28th, 2013. MAYA MAXX is a self-taught painter who started to draw when she was 27 years old.

Since then, she’s been working on various fields, such as gallery and museum exhibitions, book and CD cover designs, and live paintings.　She is very popular especially among younger generations.

This is the sixth exhibition which is part of a long-term exhibition project “MAYA MAXX’s ten years”, and Kahitsukan will exhibit almost 60 pieces of her new works under a theme of “Ancient civilization” and “Mythology”, and continuous paintings inspired by specific word. Also live painting performance and an autograph session will be held as related events.
