What are you addicted now?

Till the other day, I was deep into local folk songs such as “Dodompa: a rumba-like Japanese musical genre popular in the 1960s,” because I worked to design for CD jacket of Unplugged punk folk band called “Shida Myojin” (Fern Great God) by Michiro Endo, Toshiaki Ishizuka and Hisato Yamamoto. Now I’m working with a Sapporo-based band “Wedim Media,” so I am addicted how to draw the world of their lyrics. And then, to make “toys for cats” I keep.

Please let us know some motif or something you want to draw in the future.

In fact I wanted to exhibit my works like more Christmas and like picture matching card game, but I could not put it into practice. It was indigestion for me, so now planning a fun game as people will want to display.

Finally, what is an important thing for you, an illustrator and artist?

It’s to draw art works that viewers smile with having a look at. So I also draw with a smile always. But sometimes draw anxiety, sadness and anger of course. As an artist, it’s important to draw my heart as it is.
