Russell Tyler “PPB” 2015, Oil on canvas, 20″ x 16″

A solo exhibition of Russell Tyler‘s paintings will be held at KOKI ARTS from July 14th to August 23rd, 2017.

Tyler lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. He has exhibited extensively in the United States and is represented by Denny Gallery in New York. Tyler’s work has been exhibited internationally in countries.

Tyler’s paintings explore a variety of expressive impasto abstractions. This exhibition will showcase 10 small paintings from 2015 and 2017.

His works from 2015, with strong references to art movements from the 20th century, have a nostalgic effect but are contemporary in the way that they reflect how an image can be perceived under the influence of today’s technology. His most recent works are floral compositions, juxtaposing vivid colors and resembling digital brushstrokes.
