Chiu Chih-Hua started his solo exhibition “Six Years” till September 18th, at Taipei Artists Village. He is a Taiwan-based artist and his works mostly focusing on the research of the images, which contain static or dynamic, real or virtual images.
His previous works capture the urban perspective through a single channel video shooting, inspired by documentary photography. He issued a statement to this exhibition below;
If memories are the temporary storage of the past, when you recall it at this moment, it will become the memory of the future. We recall and store these memories repeatedly, until the end of the world. We rewrite our own historical facades. I looked for the historical relics and oral history of THAV. Such as marvelous spectacle, small objects which commemorate someone and heterogenization experience. I arrange all information, and use the method of space remake to narrate a scene in my artwork. When the model becomes a memory box, we will become a blade to retrieve the moment. Winds become the force behind our imagination, Water become a floating symbol.
