The solo exhibition “Minimal Art” by Chisato Shinya a.k.a. Kinpro will be held at Cross Hotel Sapporo from September 19th – December 20th, 2012. Her illustration forms derived from “nature” that brings into her own natural lifestyle. She has produce designs for hotel interiors, fashion, packaging, book picture, etc worldwide.

Since its opening in 2007, Cross Hotel Sapporo has been giving a series of art exhibitions named “ART X (cross)” at the ground floor entrance hall. This year in collaboration with SHIFT, the ART X will feature the Hokkaido-based artists. The exhibition also consists of the Machinaka Art project, aiming to fill the city with art and to create friendly environment for citizens to familiarize with the art, with the participation of galleries, artists and shops. This exhibition will be the fifth edition of “ART X”.

In this exhibition, Chisato will release about 20 new works including mixed medias inspired by fashion icons, 3D works. The works are painted by repeating objects, which are simplified shapes and colors from her original illustrating style. It is like “back to basics” and her art works are homage to “Pop art/Minimal Art” which she has been inspired. Some her original interior goods will be sold there.

During the exhibition, some events such as workshop are also planning. Please enjoy the collaboration of stylish mood in the Cross hotel and the exhibition.
