A Sapporo-born Nihonga artist Tamako Kataoka died in 2008 at the age of 103, dedicated herself to painting. Her retrospective will be held at Museum of Contemporaray Art, Sapporo for the first time in Hokkaido, in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the museum. The exhibition will feature about 50 pieces of her leading works as well as her 17 sketches.
