WOOD WOOD A/W 10 SHOW

A balance between prêt-à-porter standards and the significant of the underground creates a new generation on the street couture scene. That is what the Copenhagen-based Wood Wood represents indeed. With an established graphic-profile the brand has grown up in the fashion industry since 2002. The brand is frequently inspired by and is doing tributes to the brands they feel admiration for, including several contributions with other brands such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Comme des Garcons, Asics, Fred Perry, and Medicom Toys.

“The combination of our graphics with re-designed basic styles and traditional elements really reflects a connected whole.” says Karl-Oskar Olsen, Wood Wood menswear designer.

You will find them at Oak New York, Colette Paris, Goodhood London, Loveless and Barneys Tokyo, 90m2 Amsterdam, Kron Reykjavik, Harvey Nichols Hong Kong

Due to the Copenhagen Fashion Week, Wood Wood hosted a sales showroom Moshroon at the gorgeous Hotel D’Angleterre with a nice selection of different participant brands, an initiative to build friendships and join forces. The Hotel was also the selected venue to present their new autumn-winter collection 2010. The brand spreads a great devotion. The styling was made by Kim Jones and Lauren Blane. The jewellery was made by Duffy and footwear by Dr. Martens and Nike ACG. This year is the 50th anniversary of Martens and Wood Wood recently did a collaboration with Nike for the new model Lunar.

Some oversize garments, prints with maple leafs and multicolor were the keynotes of a solid new proposal of wearable clothes.

Wood Wood also did a special feature with a release party at Ideal Bar/Vega to introduce a new compilation of music made by Copenhagen-based artists. Sound of Copenhagen volume 4 is compiled by Le Gammeltoft and Tolstrup.
