In such circumstance, there were some impressive works such as Didier Marcel’s scutpture made with trunks and resin casts, Virginie Yassef’s the claw marks by the pterosaurus, and Anita Molinero’s installation of rubbish bins in melted, colored plasticred hung from the ceiling.

Wang Du Kebab

International Kebab was a work by Wang Du, who was born in China and has been working intensely as an artist based in France. As its title suggest, the work is a kebab made skewered with hundreds of photos taken during his travels around the world. Visitors can cut a piece of the Kebab as they like and they can bring it back home. There were always many people enjoying it.

Besides The Residents, the FORCE DE L’ART 02 was comprised of: The Guests performing concerts and performances, The Visitors showcasing works by 7 internationally notable artists including Daniel Buren, Bertrand Lavier and Annette Messager, each were displayed at different tourist spots in Paris.

Compared to the first event which made its debut closely-tied with the government and drew criticism on the chaotic show, the second event gathered quite negative reviews as well, although many exclaimed that it was “better than before”. In the midst of the global recession, there were big cuts in the budget from major companies for the triennale. As an internatinal triennale organized by French Ministry of Culture, held only for 40 days, deserted with no lines at the entrance at any time, unfortunately it could be said that the triennale failed as an exhibition aiming to encourage art in France.
