DESIGNART TOKYO, the art and design festival that attracted a total of 200,000 visitors during its 10-day run last year, will be held again this year from October 20th to 29th. The theme this year is “Sparks -Freeing Your Thoughts-”. In preparation for the event, they are currently accepting applications for exhibitors until June 30th, and are also offering the “UNDER 30” program, in which exhibitor fees are waived to support young artists and designers (until March 30th).

DESIGNART is a project launched in 2017 with the aspiration to transmit and industrialize creativity from Tokyo. This innovative initiative brings together art and design (architecture, interior design, products, fashion, technology, etc.) from around the world in Tokyo, one of the world’s leading cities for mixed culture, and uses a variety of stores, galleries, and other venues to present a variety of art and design.

Now in its seventh year, DESIGNERT TOKYO has grown into a hybrid international event that fuses the physical and the digital. There will be contents and collaborations that reflect the current times, such as sustainable and SDGs. In addition, a project aiming to legislate “1% for Art,” a movement to support art by society as a whole, which has been implemented in the U.S., Europe and other countries, was launched the year before last.
