Spritmuseum, a Swedish museum dedicated to the rich history of the country’s relationship with alcohol, offers visitors an unforgettable journey. From seduction to suffering, from park bench to cocktail party. It is rare that so many valuable insights can come from an afternoon spent on the subject of alcohol.

Champagne has never been as popular as it is today. The trend is global, but Sweden, oddly enough, is one of the countries where consumption of champagne has increased the most. For the past few years, the small Nordic country has held the 10th spot for largest champagne market in the world. Spritmuseum in Stockholm, Sweden capitalized on this growing trend and opened an exhibition highlighting the rich culture and history of the bubbly beverage.

The exhibit highlights the craftsmanship itself, with details on the soil, fermentation, and bubbles but also on trends and pop culture. Champagne’s presence in hip-hop, the renowned champagne whisk, and the myths around French royalty Marie Antoinette’s breast as well as our focus on flavor and viewing champagne as a wine and not solely a bubbly aperitif is included in the exhibition.

Stockholm based design studio Form Us With Love is behind the elegant shape and form of the exhibition. From the shiny pink polish to the earthy tones, they have created a natural yet luxurious space that truly captures the essence of champagne in the art gallery.
