TADASHI NAKAMURA × ATELIER YOCTO “UNCERTAIN PLAY”

Coincidentally, an artist Tadashi Nakamura and a design unit “Atelier Yocto” moved to Hokuto city in the northwest of Yamanashi prefecture at the same time in the spring of 2013. This time, exhibition “Uncertain Play” by those two artists will be held from December 8th to 17th at the CALM & PUNK GALLERY in Tokyo.

Tadashi Nakamura is an artist dressed as “Mary of goats” to perform public performance, and his hybrid animal dolls which combine entertainment and artistry, are not only surreal and cute but also allegorical for adults. “Atelier Yocto” produces furniture and tools that can be arranged and carried freely, and can be used for a long time, with the keyword “fun to find a way of using each other = design with margins to devise”.

In this exhibition where both arts and design collaborate, in addition to about 60 bodies produced by Tadashi Nakamura so far, presenting three unprecedented sized new works. To find their new function, they interact with experimental iron new work produced by “Atelier Yocto”.
