Tiziana and Gianni Baldizzone’s photo exhibition “Transmissions people-to-people” will be held at Chanel Nexus Hall in Tokyo, from September 2nd.

This exhibition is the result of the Baldizzones’ project “Transmettre” about the relation between Master and Disciple and about by the Passing on knowledge. It is a long-term work that for over 5 years now has been taking the two photographers to various parts of the world in search of masters embodying traditional knowledge that is part of heritage of humanity’s cultural diversity. And they have met as over 100 masters and disciples in the 40 fields as traveling from Europe to Asia and Africa.

Tiziana and Gianni’s works give us the chance to think and realize the innovation and tradition, generation to generation exchange, diversity of cultures, protection of heritages and more, as described clearly the universality of the human action of passing knowledge on. The exhibition ideally reproduces a path of transmission: from the search for a master to the parting of ways after the accomplishment of the passing on of a skill. Each photograph is the expression of different moments of transmission.
