HAPPENINGText: Tatsuhiko Akutsu

A trip to forest of illusion.

Chisato Shinya aka Kinpro is a Sapporo-based illustrator, who works in various fields including advertisements, magazines, and publishing. Her name should be familiar to you from past articles in SHIFT. Her exhibition at Café Sunshine Studio is will occur through the 9th of November.

Kinpro Exhibition - The Trip of the Tree

Autumn is the best season for art and during it Kinpro invites us on a mysterious trip of art. Her life theme as an artist is “nature”, therefore trees and animals in her world are graphically depicted throughout this exhibit. The colors and characters are presented with a strong impact as they are synonyms for her.

Kinpro Exhibition - The Trip of the Tree

There is something that arouses our adventurous sprit in her works. That may be different from a trip. In role playing games, you make yourself a hero by clearing difficult stages, nearly falling into a hole and being eaten up and helping a princess confined in a castle. The world presents joy and fear. We are afraid of getting involved in the mysterious world, at the same time feeling something very tempting. It’s as if you ate a poisonous mushroom, fascinated by beautiful color.

Kinpro Exhibition - The Trip of the Tree

Inside the café feels like a mysterious forest, her characters seem looking forward to your adventurous trip and they arouse our young venturesome spirit.
Why don’t you have a trip into the mysterious world with colorful trees? When you return to the real world, you will know that another world whirls in a cup of coffee and find yourself looking forward to having another trip to her world in the forest.
