Kai & Sunny‘s exhibition “My Eye On You” is held until September 24th at colette in Paris. They are UK-based artist duo. It is their 1st solo exhibition at the gallery after solo shows in London, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

In conjunction with the exhibition, the artists will release a new print edition. Kai & Sunny take inspiration from the natural world and the patterns and forms it manifests. The works on paper measure approximately a meter in both width and height, and are created using coloured archival ballpoint pens, building up images of dizzying, geometric complexity out of single lines.

In both form and theme “Time” is in the foundation of each image. The original pieces represent the shifting flow of time. The slow methodic process of building thin line upon thin line in colour creates a tension inside the compositions. The new works show magnified and stylized drawings of natural occurrences featuring continuous tidal-like waves and intense sun bursts. And “My Eye On You” sees the duo collaborate once again with Element Skateboards on a limited edition series of signed skateboard decks representing Wind, Water, Fire and Earth.
