THE AGE OF COLLAGE

The group exhibition “The Age of Collage” will be held at Gallery Feinkunst Krüger in Hamburg from March 8th through 29th, 2014.
The exhibition was created for Gestalten Space in Berlin and features many of the collage artists found in Gestalen’s beautiful book of the same title. In collage, raw visual material is collected and then combined in such a way as to abstract the individual elements enough that the artist’s own vision becomes prominent.
Because its references range from other artistic works and techniques to scientific images, pop culture, and erotica, this material and the resulting compositions reflect humanity’s collective visual memory and context.
