Towada Art Center will present “Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa SANAA Exhibition”. The art museum was designed by Ryue Nishizawa, one of the leading architects in Japan today, and will be celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. The architecture of Towada Art Center reflects the museum’s concepts of both “a museum open to Towada city” and “an open space for providing new experiences through art”. The building functions as a creative hub in the area.

SANAA is an architect unit who recently has designed 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, The Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion, New Museum, Rolex Learning Center, and Louvre Lens etc. In this exhibition showcase their projects and explore the way of architect in a new era, the relationship between each region and architect through approximately 40 miniature models, drawings and video works by SANNA.

As a related events, a talk event by Ryue Nishizawa, a talk session by Ryue Nishizawa and Yoshihide Otomo, a special live performance by Yoshihide Otomo, and a dance performance by Masaharu Imazu.
