“UFO – unidentified feed object” by OKMAOTO Mitsuhiro. The piece is of a large UFO object resembling a cup noodle container, which has crashed and is submerged in the water. The UFO is supposed to be the same one which crashed in Hokkaido, where a similar one is exhibited. Mount Rokko is said to have many sightings of UFOs in the past.

“The working Mt.Rokko !” is a piece by Makiko Masuda. In the past there were many watermills in Rokko, thanks to an abundant water supply. Masuda uses viewer’s participation in order to power the watermill through foot power of the people walking near the piece. This water is then used to feed the plants showing the relationship the imagery has with Rokko’s nature and environment.

Taking the chair lift to Rokko Garden Terrace from Mount Rokko Country House you come across “Clock Tower” by Lyota Yagi. Here you see many clocks hanging from the ceiling in the form of a chandelier. The idea is that the clocks are constantly and endlessly recording time throughout the day as if the time is purified.

Nearby to “Clock Tower” you will see a large collection of flags, “HA・TA・PA・TA・PA・TA” a piece by Yume Matsui. These flags are originally based on the international boat signals used for communicating with other boats at sea from 26 different flags. In this current piece 30 flags were used.

The event is on until November 23rd and is strongly recommended for anyone near to Kobe and who is interested in art, showcasing a wide variety of different art through many different ideas and concepts.
