TOMATO EXHIBITION

HAPPENING

somethings that you stand in front of,
somethings that you interact with, and
somethings that you’re within.

without surprises, life would be dull
first impressions are usually not accurate
eventually your image will proceed you
sometimes its better to have no expectations

so many people mingling at the opening party
not much conversation about the exhibition, but lots of conversation
tomato is about talking, doing and showing
no more, no less.

a second visit to laforet was necessary, another journey
there are no credits or titles for the work that has been done
each to their own, some things you connect with, some things you don’t
there is much variety, and naivety, and even some comedy

frozen landscapes and ambient soundscapes
bassy pulses and rippling liquids
views observed from boats, trains, planes
architecture, innocence, experience
lighting and motion, physics and poetry
images you can hear, sounds you can see

the wonderful thing about tomato work is that it’s not unique
a sampling of ideas and expressions, familiar but somehow original
filtering the past into the present, influenced by today and tomorrow
same sun different sky, in positive and negative
