LUC TUYMANS “GLASSES”
NEWSText: Aya Shomura
The internationally renowned Belgian painter Luc Tuymans will hold solo exhibition “Glasses” at the National Portrait Gallery in London, from October 4th.
This exhibition will show a display of portraits of sitters wearing glasses made and selected by him. Since the 1970s Tuymans has been preoccupied with how we perceive people and things.
His work makes the banal striking, in this case the everyday phenomenon of spectacles, which are now so ubiquitous as to go almost unnoticed.
