CHANEL PRESENTS “LA GALERIE DU 19M TOKYO”
Further along, in la Forêt, nature takes center stage. Wooden sculptures by master craftsman Shuji Nakagawa, renowned for reinterpreting the traditional oke (wooden bucket), form a “Forest of Creation” that seems to breathe and shimmer under Tokyo’s skyline. It is a place where wood remembers its origin, where human ingenuity becomes an echo of the natural world.

The journey culminates in le Théâtre, a dynamic stage for exchange and collaboration. Beneath a monumental embroidered curtain by artist Xavier Veilhan and Atelier Montex, first unveiled at Kabuki-za Theatre, artists and artisans gather for workshops, masterclasses, and performances. It is here that dialogue transforms into creation, and tradition into performance.

In its final gesture, “Beyond Our Horizons” invites visitors into la Magie, where the boundary between the visible and invisible dissolves. Works by A.A. Murakami and konomad (Tomihiro Kono and Sayaka Maruyama) explore themes of impermanence, identity, and transformation through mist, light, and sculptural wigs. These ethereal installations encapsulate the exhibition’s philosophy, that craftsmanship exists in motion, fragile, fleeting, and profoundly human.

Through its poetic architecture and collaborative spirit, “Beyond Our Horizons” transforms the Tokyo City View into a living atelier, a space where the crafts of Paris and Tokyo breathe together. It is an act of reverence for the hand that creates, the material that endures, and the imagination that dares to go beyond.
