WABISABI “HERE MAN”
Clark Gallery + SHIFT presents a graphic art exhibition “HERE MAN” by the design unit “Wabisabi“, Ryohey “WABI” Kudow and Kazushi “SABI” Nakanishi who are based in Sapporo from December 1st to 28th. Their 18 new graphic works are abstracted with people motifs, and the texture of the special printed canvas is also the highlight.
AYUMI.MITSUKANE 2017 AUTUMN / WINTER COLLECTION
Autumn / winter collection by ayumi.mitsukane has arrived. She is a young designer born in Hokkaido, living in Tokyo who “works for contemporary art” in the fashion field. The theme of this season is not “Art Déco” but “Art + Deco“. There are new works that you want to try on such as skirts that you can enjoy the multiple silhouettes by adjusting asymmetric fasteners.
YASUKAZU TAKIHANA DRAWING
“Machinaka Art Editions” is a series of high-quality prints with unified sizes and limitations so that Hokkaido’s art works can be easily collected.
This time, an autographed drawing motif with animals by an artist, Yasukazu Takihana from Hakodate was specially added. Frames can be selected from seven types of designs according to the interior.
IN-STORE INSTALLATION: RIE KAWAKAMI
The first in-store installation, “Store Installation” on the first floor of the museum, the work “Trace” with the motifs of wild dog by a sculptor named Rie Kawakami has extended the exhibition period due to its high popularity. Following the extension, a bag-type object “folding” made of iron and a new minimal ellipse object “fragment” etc. was added.
YUKA KASAI “JAPANESE NATURAL MINERAL PIGMENTS EARRINGS”
“Super Japan” exhibition curated by Clark Gallery + SHIFT is being held in the lobby of Cross Hotel Sapporo. Yuka Kasai presents accessories that showcase the natural mineral pigments such as Akane, Gunroku, and Suishomatsu colors, in addition to her new Japanese paintings. The brass foils is oxidized with years and changes to a calmer texture.
TAKUYA YONEZAWA “MIRROR”
A solo exhibition “Mirror” by Takuya Yonezawa based in Teshio-cho, Hokkaido will be held at Clark Gallery + SHIFT from January 6th to 27th early next year. He thinks “Painting is an entertainment that the viewer himself spreads the world from there,” and constructs a space with his new works that draws motifs drawing attention such as plaster figures like a mirror ball.
