Rojak was into its tenth session at this year’s Singapore Design Festival … what are the plans for the next ten?

Rojak is currently taking a break, after ten sessions, we felt there was a need to take a breather. For the first ten sessions, we constantly changed the event location, bringing people to places we like, from Pearl Bank, Golden Mile to the National Stadium. Keep a lookout, Rojak will be back shortly, all refreshed!

It must be very busy at FARM, websites, interiors, buildings, publications … what fuels this FARM? What is a day in FARM like?

Trying to do what you do well. Some things work out, others didn’t. If its not so well, we try to do better.

We don’t normally work late on a typical working day. As a new office, we are trying to create a work culture. We don’t have a special unique culture at the moment. We do however have running sessions.

What new crops will FARM be growing?

We had Stamp which was an island wide post box design exercise. There are few avenues for graffiti in Singapore and we wanted to solve this problem by providing the canvas of the post box. Forty designs were selected and the public painted the post boxes themselves. After a year, the artworks are there, so we are looking at having Stamp 02 to continue this avenue for the public to design and contribute to the cityscape. We are also looking at working on more architectural work as opposed to the spatial design of the interior.
