A candle artist, Keiko Orikasa’s solo exhibition will start from February 3rd at Clark Gallery+SHIFT in Sapporo. In recent years, she has been noted in various fields such as making candle with the motif as natural phenomenon of Hokkaido like snow and ice, producing guest room of “Ice Hills Hotel in Tobetsu 2016” and art cooperation of the movie.

She creates, unlike general image of candles to give a “healing and warmth”, art works using candles as a material for “lighting the fire to the Japanese heart” which has been felt the beauty in “fragility and unstable”. For this exhibition, she will exhibit new 10 more works themed as “aspect”, that means the appearance of someone or something existing always, on the wall of the gallery.
