At CALM & PUNK GALLERY, Tokyo, Esther Kim‘s solo exhibition “I’m pink and blue for you” will be started from September 4th to 27th. For this exhibition, she represents about her identity with spending a teenager’s time in Japan and currently basing in the United States, while a Korean American.
She is an illustrator who works for various brands such as NYLON JAPAN, ANNASU, Isetan and Urban Outfitters for worldwide. In recent years, collaborated with a model, MEG BABY for the stamp of LINE camera. For her who has been raised in mixture environment, “pink” and “blue” refers the shades combined the flag of Korea, Japan and America. This time, it will be exhibited that the portraits of the girl who embodies a variety of values and ideas begun to grow, and the contradictions born in there. In addition, appearing the illustrations of “Esther Bunny” as her iconic character. The figure of the bohemian bunny with emotions is also a character that reflects herself.
