During L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2011 (LMFF), fashionistas from around the world come to join the city’s creative community and fashionable folk. A delightful sea of handsome men and women come out to celebrate and attend the many events on hand including Runways Shows, exhibitions, expositions, industry forums and business seminars, each featuring national and international leading names in the industry.

Arnsdorf

The Runway Shows are not to miss. From established designers Leona Edmiston, Carla Zampatti and Romance Was Born, to excitingly emerging locals Dress Up, Arnsdorf and Dion Lee, each showcasing their latest collections. Melbourne favourites Limedrop, Alpha60 and Dhini are all back to show the new guys the ropes and setting the world-high standard. What LMFF is all about!

Dress Up

The LMFF Business Seminar is one of the hottest tickets, a day spent with leading industry figures and their unique insight into the fashion world. Hosted by Robyn Holt of Australian Vogue Living, Conde Nast and Monocle and including wise words from Jefferson Hack of Dazed Group, ACNE Studios CEO Mikael Schiller just to name an impressive few.

Highlights include ‘Drawn From Fashion’, an exhibition showcasing upcoming Australian designers alongside young fashion illustrators and artists, and LMFF National Graduate Showcase, which as the name suggests provides a platform for 12 of Australia’s most impressive fashion graduates. A chance to spot the next big designer!

This year’s LMFF Official Guide is spectacular. Renowned Australian fashion photographer Daniella Federici was commissioned this year, producing stunning images featuring actress export Melissa George. Daniella’s exclusive exhibition is currently on at Sophie Gannon Gallery, where 30 rare prints from her career and current works from India are showcased.

Currently on and until March 20, one of Melbourne’s leading events not to miss.
