TODOJUNTO

PLACE

Todojunto or the story of how a small and personal project became one of the most interesting proposals in town.

Last year Andrea Gomez founded an abandoned and destroyed space in the Born neighborhood in Barcelona, she decided to clean and reform the space and build a cultural meeting point for the city. Helped by some friends she spent a few months working and finally she opened the place on April 26, 2008 with the exhibition Supercostellation presenting a selection of works from more than 10 artist & friends.

You can judge the expectation of local artists, curators, neighbors and public in general by how crowded the opening of the space was, everybody was there. That doesn’t happen often here in Barcelona lately.

TODOJUNTO

Todojunto is a D.I.Y exhibition space, concert place, bookstore, music shop and graphic design studio (the design studio brings together the work of Miuk and Joystick). So Todojunto is the new meeting place of Barcelona, offering one of the best cultural programs in town.

TODOJUNTO

Lately we assist to beautiful exhibitions presenting the work of illustrators like Monica Naranjo or the portuguese duo Julio Dolbeth and Rui Vitorino Santos. Another incredible experience was the “Long Performance”, an 8 hours non-stop concert by Luke Sutherland and Jer Reid.

TODOJUNTO

So Todojunto in less than a year is growing up and increasing their finest proposals. Right now the space is offering Workshops for Children, also the shop works as a selection of record labels, books, fanzines and some other great stuff to check out.

TODOJUNTO

In this matter Todojunto has been empowered by the great contributions like Mesa Editores, a Colombian printing house dedicated to the Architectural practice and divulgation, focusing on the latinamerican context. You can find a selection of their books, among other things.

TODOJUNTO

Regarding music (one of the most important spots for Todojunto) the works of Cronica Electronica, a selection of books, zines, and cds by Materia Prima Shop (Porto /Lisboa), music from Nosordo as well as some independent music projects from local and international artist can be found here.

Well, we are very happy for Andrea and her brilliant space because we know that she is deeply involved with the work of cultural research and artist promotion, so Barcelona has a new meeting point for all of us interested on sharing and learning about the contemporary cultural proposals and production.

Long life for TODOJUNTO!
