Patti Smith

Saturday comes with one of the best and most emotives concerts with Patti Smith completely pletoric and a euphric crowd. All together singing Because The Night was a big moment of the Festival and right after Patti Smith plays a version of Smells like tee spirit from Nirvana.

With such a start the day ran with good proposals from stage to stage. The Australian band Architecture In Helsinki brought to Rockdelux stage a colorful note to the day with a messy mix of instruments in a joyful concert. The audience started to dance with the fresh songs from “In Case We Die” and some “Fingers Crossed” songs.

The Auditori presented the musical stories of Kimya Dawson and the opportunity to listen Matt Elliott playing with his orchestra.

Sonic Youth

Right after Patti Smith, the Estrella Damm stage hosted the always young veterans Sonic Youth performing for the first time and from the beginning till the end, song by song, the mitic “Daydream Nation” from 1988. The revival was a really beautiful experience and the Sonics ended the show playing a few songs from new records.

Wilco

The last concert of the big Estrella Damm stage was maybe one of the most waited for concerts after their last (solo) concert at Primavera Club festival last year. Wilco filled the whole audience space and the people were not disappointed listening to the great band from Chicago and its charismatic leader, who bring us to the most brilliant American folk-rock style.

Another American band was responsible of one of the greatest shows of the day: the band Battles from New York performed their debut album “Atlas” mixing styles from hip-hop with the most exiting experimental rock.

Late at night at the forum was the time to dance with the CD Drome by Vueling and Vice stages presenting a great selection of Djs, with the Britsh Dj Erol Akan and his famous re-mixes, the young Nathan Fake, the German Dj and producer Oliver Huntemann, and Hell, member of the International Deejay Gigolos just to name a few artist that brought the Primavera Sound 2007 to keep dancing till Sunday morning.

Once again the Primavera Sound proved to be one of the most established and solid festivals in Europe and maybe the world. This was put in evidence by the increase of foreign visitors (more than 30% this year) and the international media showing up at the event .

Congratulations to the Primavera Sound crew. We will wait for the upcoming surprises and the best selection of music once again next year.
