The last presenter always produces exciting projects Toshio Iwai. He is known from an installation of interactive light and sound and collaboration performance with Ryuichi Sakamoto which received a grand prix award in the interactive art section from Ars Electronica. Even though many of his projects could be seen in public, it was really rare to get the chance to see a presentation from this active and respected artist.

He presented images from his first project that related with a real incident from his youth, and explained the concepts for his last projects. At the end, he performed a song with a new digital module and sequencer that had a shape we’ve never seen. This new tool is now being developed collaboratively with YAMAHA.

Each artist gave a stimulating presentation and performance, and the sub title of this event, “BUZZ” was the right word for this exciting event. It sure was a great experience for everybody, but especially for those designers and artists interested in the future to touch and listen to great ideas and creativity from today’s hot artists. The next event hasn’t been announced, but we should not take eyes off from the next “APARTMENT”.
