LOVISA RINGBORG “MIRAGE”

HAPPENINGText: Victor Moreno

What is the truth?, Lovisa asks to herself. To answer it through her work she uses memories, dreams, art historical references and the search into the human psyche. The image of a cloud formation, mist next to pink water creating the feeling of emptiness.

The treatment of light is also very important in the work exhibited in this exhibition. See-through fabrics with different silhouettes with her palette of warm tender pastel hues from off–white to soft pink and everything in between. There are some black and white images too, but again light and mirror and see through elements are a constant in her images, as well as nature in some of them. Thus her aim is to explore the force of nature and how we perceive it.

In addition to the Stray Dogs group of cultures, there are a couple of sculptures with hands and feet along with some photography of human hands too, everything somewhat altered thus provoking that dream-like aspect.
