SUMMERCASE 2007

HAPPENINGText: Julio Cesar Palacio

The second day of the Festival was as exciting as the first one. Early on the Terminal O hosted the Manchester veterans James. A really enthusiastic crowd that seemed to remember their big hits from the 80´s enjoyed the concert.

The Jesus and Mary Chain
Jesus and Mary Chain

The time for the veterans continued with a show at H Terminal from the reunified band The Jesus and Mary Chain. They were not alone, because the open air space was full of people eager to listen to their classical indie-rock repertoire.

Jarvis Cocker
Jarvis Cocker

The charismatic and iconic Jarvis Cocker presented himself as a grown up artist, erasing his Pulp past. He has become a great singer and songwriter that hypnotize the audience with his charm and bizarre songs.

The Gossip
The Gossip

The Gossip show was something to remember, the trio was the most electrifying band of the festival, it was something else, with their riot grrrl memories, punk attitude and hyperactive singer made people enjoy and vibrate from the start to the end. Amazing.

DJ Shadow

A great mix of styles with a sophisticated touch come by the hand of DJ Shadow, performing at the big open air stage the show was a demonstration of technique and emotion. Great samples and fast scratches combining rap and indie music.

Right after the standing crowd was looking for a place to sit down and relax to listen to the French masters of atmospheric sound and space landscape Air. The concert was a strange moment of peace during the frenetic days of the festival.

Kaiser Chiefs

The calm came to an end and the energy rose again with the show by the Kaiser Chiefs, the British band that have reached big success evident by the great concentration of people that were singing their addictive hits.

The Chemical Brotherse
The Chemical Brothers

To say goodbye to this edition Terminal E brought out one of the music-for-the-masses masters The Chemical Brothers. The Chemicals seem to always be a step forward, sometimes for good and sometimes for bad, but this time the show was a delightful combination of a music cocktail and one of the most amazing audiovisual shows.

It was already late and the people were satiated after a broad array of music and visuals. It was a fantastic end for this successful Summercase 2007.

We hope that Summercase continues to grow and keeps the great taste they have show in there two editions.
