Why do you think your design concepts fits so well in the Asian market?

Asia is my favorite place to travel for inspiration. I love the neon lit hectic cities, the pop culture and the street style. Tokyo is my favorite place. In Tokyo you can get excited about everything cute and fun. I want to create this same feeling to my shoes. They are playful, and filled with humour and colour. Something that gets people say Kawaii!

I think a few celebs have been seen with some of your designs. Please tell me about it.

I am so touched that so many musicians, blogger, supermodels and it-girls have been wearing my shoes. We have had the likes of Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Cara Delevigne, Marina from the Marina and the Diamonds, Coco Rocha and her baby, Daisy Lowe, Suzi Bubble just to name a few.

Minna Parikka S/S 2016 Collection, “Bubbles”

What is this new collection about?

I am currently designing the resort 2017 and S/S 2016 collections. It takes a year for the idea to end up to the shelves of the shops. I can not reveal anything of the next year but the aw16 collection is out of this world. The collection is named ‘A kind of magic’. It is a collection with glam rock vibes and Barbarella references.
