DMY 2008

HAPPENINGText: Ayako Yamamoto

As for the plateware, small objects and others, the idea was beautifully designed to many of the works; something you can clip a string of the tea bag to a cup, something you can hang a toilet paper, towel or soap with a hanger, a matchbox made of concrete, and a necklace with real peanuts. If you were a little lost to find the place to put your empty glass, please draw upon the picture above. There is a magnet under the glass, and you can even swing it.

The sold cut radio and clock by Gogo was inspired by the product in the communism age in Poland. It was impressive that clock hands were lined on a stick and the saw was stuck.

DMY 2008

DMY was held in the continuous good weather at Berlin’s early summer. Afterwards, some people were enjoying sunbathing at the pool on the next river called Badeschiffs and its bar.

“THE SKY IS NOT THE LIMIT” was the title as if it was the designers’ determination, rather than the event theme. Various things energetically happen everywhere, and many of them are somewhere loose. Although the boundary between art and design seemed to be gone few years ago both in a positive and negative way, it was a good event I could feel the way for design.
