Eric Elms moves
Towards the end of the 90’s, Eric Elms moves from his natal California to settle in New York and study design. He quickly starts working for Supreme but also for other major companies such as Nike, Panasonic, aNYthing, Wieden+Kennedy, Undefeated, Silly Thing, Huge Magazine among others. He now runs his own design studio, WeAreAdorn in Brooklyn. His paintings are a reflection of his influences growing up and the aesthetics of his design background. He has had solo and group show in Tokyo, Australia, NYC and Europe. Eric Elms comes in May at colette with new original artworks

Married to the MOB
For her very own Freestyle, colette asked Married to the MOB‘s Leah to participate. Under both hook-loops and words “New York” and “Paris”, each pair is numbered, since it is a 350 pairs limited edition. Exclusively sold at colette and on MOB’s website starting May 5th, they will then be sold starting August 1st in a selection of shops around the globe. Each pair will be sold in a black felt cloth bag, stiletto style, signed Reebok, colette and MOB.

GAP and Whitney Museum of American Art present Gap Artist Edition, a serie of limited edition t-shirts, sold exclusively in France at colette, starting next May 23rd. These unique pieces are printed with a selection of artworks presented in previous Whitney Biennales. Some of the most powerful artists in contemporary arts are represented: Jeff Koons, Chuck Close, Kiki Smith, Marilyn Minter, Barbara Kruger, Glenn Ligon, Kenny Scharf et Kerry James Marshall.

Hardly Boys in Hardly Gold is the latest dog escapade, by artist photographer William Wegman, now available in dvd and showing these overwhelming dogs in a version of American children books called “Hardly Boys”. Premiering at colette!

Waterbury Clock created the first watch ever affordable to 1850’s-1870’s working classes. In the 50’s, Timex is created, a brand new concept of wrist watch. It became a huge success, especially thanks to a cutting edge ad campaign, where totally mistreated but at the end, still ticking. Once more it was sold at a very low price. By the end of the 50’s, one out of every three watches bought in the U.S. was a Timex. Technological advances allowed the company to offer a wide range of products and last through decades to be sold again, now and still at a very low price, in 2008 at colette…
