COLETTE NEWS NOVEMBER ’05

COLETTEText: Linlee Allen

Former Aussie and now try-hard Parisien writer Linlee Allen wholly confesses to being the “all-round groupie” of concept store colette, located in the French capital. Having participated in the world-famous boutique’s range of events across the globe, whether it be performing in a radio show in Copenhagen, photographing guests at a party in Japan or being the first – and the last – one on the dancefloor at a CD launch party in New York, she relates to the colette way of life and here, lists her favourite finds from colette for the Autumn/Winter 05/06 season ahead.

ACCESSORIES BY AZUMI & DAVID
Definitely not for those who take themseves seriously, this super cool necklace from Azumi & David is a strand of pearls with what seems to be a covered pair of black ray bans attached to the necklace. To say its a favourite of mine is an understatement.

THE SADIE & KATIE FIGURINE
I liked it when i first saw this figurine, but when I found out it was called “Sadie & Kate” (perhaps after pals Sadie Frost and Kate Moss?), I liked it even more. Created by L.A based artist Camille Rose Garcia, the creepy cartoon doll with three legs and two heads is an original gift idea if ever there was one!

TATTY DEVINE BROOCHES
Ever since spotting their cowgirl/western-inspired brooch sets by Brit-label Tatty Devine several seasons back I’ve been obsessed by their work. For Winter 2005 I’m definately sporting these crazy character brooches. And I might even plait their fringed tails too!

ERNTE WOMENSWEAR
Admittedly not for everyone (especially with the hefty price tag), Ernte is a unique brand produced out of Bali by designers Evan Sugerman and Tiffa Nova. Think punk-ish crafty details ranging from studding and corset-styled lacing upon classic, well-cut leather jackets and vests.
