COLETTE NEWS JANUARY ’06

COLETTEText: Linlee Allen

Former Aussie and now try-hard Parisien writer Linlee Allen wholly confesses to being the “all-round groupie” of concept store colette, located in the French capital. Having participated in the world-famous boutique’s range of events across the globe, whether it be performing in a radio show in Copenhagen, photographing guests at a party in Japan or being the first – and the last – one on the dancefloor at a CD launch party in New York, she relates to the colette way of life and here, lists her favourite finds from colette for the Autumn/Winter 05/06 season ahead.

NIKE COURT FORCE STUSSY TRAINERS
For the special exclusive arrival of the Nike Court Force Stussy trainers in Paris, colette organised a breakfast for all die-hard trainer fans ensuring they wouldn’t be too weak during the wait. Nice one. Nice shoes too by the way.

MARIPOLARAMA BOOK OF POLAROIDS
Iconic leader of the New York scene during the 1980’s, Maripol aka paparazzi-styled photographer extraordinaire, was always in the right place at the right time. In December, colette showed the love by hosting a celebration of Maripol’s new book of Polaroid images “Maripolarama” (edited by PowerHouse Books) complete with DJ Mark Kamins on the turntables instore.

SHAOO ACCESSORIES
Chinese designers Wen Wei and Ho Yuk are the two young designers behind the label Shaoo. Resembling lace jewelry of sorts, necklaces and bracelets are cut from assorted materials including fine leather and feature silver or gold pendants, exuding a mystical Chinese theme throughout based upon shadow and light.

WALLJEWELS BY ANNETTE HINTERWIRTH
Illuminated by LED technology, these super unique wall lights comprise over one thousand Strass Swarovski crystals and are a perfect gift idea for any interior lover.
Created by Annette Hinterwirth, the design measures in at around 95cm x 16cm and were a hit recently when displayed behind the cash desk at colette.
